"600 Rupiahs to call till you drop"
"13 Rupiahs per second, NO CONDITION"
"9 Rupiahs per second, till ur lips get limb"
and so on...
For those living in Indonesia, you must have been sick from these kind of advertisements, on TV, radio, or billboards. Yeah, so do i. I am SO SICK from these kind of ads. I think these people get some neural damage or delusional disease. No no... just kidding. i think those guys are so childish. This is like the kids, arguing over something. I remember a joke like this :
three kids from a primitive tribe, arguing over whose father is the "blackest",because black means power in their tribe.
The first kid : "Yesterday, my father got his finger cut, and HIS BLOOD WAS BLACK!"
The second kid : "Yesterday, my father fell from a ladder, his bone was broken, and HIS BONE WAS BLACK!"
The third kid : "HAHA! Those were nothing!! My father (sorry) fart in the family room, and suddenly THE ROOM GOT ALL DARK!"
well, all they said were nonsense, right? this is what is happening right now, i call it the "nonsense phenomena". Well, i think i will change it to "kiddy phenomena". They are giving out promises that they won't be able to fulfill. This is very dangerous. Consumer satisfaction is on its edge. For example, the operator i am using now offers this :
"you just need to pay 600 to have a conversation as long as you wish"
Let me share the truths :
1. the tariff "600 rupiahs" only applies in 11pm through 11am. in 11am through 7pm, there will be the 1200 tariff, and in 7pm through 11pm, the tariff will be 1800.
2. the call is "untimed", but when we reach 15, 30 , or 60 minutes, the call will be eventually dropped.
3. the signal bar will be very "fluctuating"
well, this is a kind of "not fulfilled" that i meant before.
Now, what is the benefit of having these "nonsense"? NOTHING!
by having this "tariff war", the only thing that happens is chaos. People will be led into miscalculation. Those standing in the thin line of marginalization will be pushed a bit over to the "submarginal" section.

Facts About F&B
I don't know why i want to write about this, but i am suddenly struck by the will to write about it. :p
F&B, as most of you know, stands for Food and Beverage.
The fact is, more than 95% of every eating activity ends with drinking activity.
And the most interesting fact is, more than 80% in those "inter-related" activities is ruled by the "mix and match" of food and beverages.
For Example :
1. Indonesian food is best with Mineral Water or Tea
2. Chinese food is best with Tea
3. Fast Food is best served with Cola or Carbonated Drink
4. Japanese Food is best with Green Tea
etc
These examples are only from what i experienced in my past years, but this is the most important thing : THOSE "mix and match"s also give a quite good effect to your health.
Indonesian Food : best known with its strong taste. The bold seasoning let our tongue get a shocking expression of taste, for example the Minang's spicy taste, Java's sweet taste, or Manado's salty and spicy taste. Tea (especially the non-sweetened ones) are good for neutralizing the taste, and moreover, tea also had antioxidants, good for health, especially for people with high density environment, such as Indonesia.
Chinese food : best known with its way of cooking, much oil, big fire, and strong seasoning. These ways do make the food taste very great, but the Carcinogen (Cancer Stimulator) is also in a high quantity. Cholesterol and Fat are also quite harmful. As what i said before, Tea has the power to "absorb" and neutralize the strong taste and also had antioxidants (which is great for anti-cancer). Moreover, the tea has the ability to absorb the fat and cholesterol, and then neutralizes it.
Japanese Food :

Japanese Food :
- Sushi & Sashimi : Well, in fact, these foods are best with almost all drinks. But only one parameter had to be made sure, the freshness of the ingredients. Why? Because, fish (which is the main ingredients of the Sushi and Sashimi) already has a good nutrition themselves. But when they lose their freshness, those nutrition came out, and what left is the bacteria. Also, the Alkyl Mustard in Wasabi (horse radish extract, which is the best with sushi & sashimi) can stop the bacteria from multiplying inside our body, and kill them. Great combination, right?
- Yakiniku, Teriyaki, and other Pan Fried Foods: these foods will contain much fat and cholesterol, and the tea can neutralizes it (like what i say before).
- Robatayaki and other Charcoal Grilled foods : these foods will be harmful because of the carcinogen contained. Ocha or Green tea can be a great solution for this harm.

My Gadgets
Yep, i am going to tell you about my gadgets.
Not much to tell... But this is my esteem to them all...
You may laugh at this, but i gave name to almost all my gadgets, and act like they have feeling... :p
1. HarNyo
HarNyo stands for "Harapan Nyokap" (A mother's hope). This is a Compaq ASUS Black Notebook. I got it in 2005, when i am going to the National Science Olympiad for Informatics. My mom bought it for me, to support my learning and practice. That's why i call it her hope... It represents her hope upon me... But, too bad i failed... T_T. Now, HarNyo has finished his lifecycle... It is broken, and the flexibility got split up. I am still trying to find a way to get HarNyo back to life.
2. KulTis
KulTis stands for "Kuliah Gratis" (Free College). This is a Macbook White 2.16 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 14.4 inches widescreen. I got it in mid 2007, when i am ready to be a student in Universitas Pelita Harapan. Why is it called Free College? Because at that time, the price of this KulTis is about 1200 Dollars, the same price with my tuition fee after cut by the scholarship. In fact, by paying the tuition fee, we got the laptop. But this time, i think vice versa, by buying KulTis, i got my college tuition fee FREE! :p
3. NGAGE
Don't read it as it is in "engage", but read it as "AND-GUH-GEH". yes, it is Nokia N-Gage. Quite a rare thing nowadays, but mine is already "half-broken". I got it in 2005, the early months. I got this when i am about to go to the hospital because of sickness. And miraculously, the disease vanished. :p. NGAGE already lost some of its part, and it is already unable to be charged. But i still use it till now, since so many memories i passed with NGAGE as my active Phone.
4. 69
Yeah, this N70 of mine is called 69, because something is missing from it. I don't know why but everytime i got a new casing for this phone, there must be something missing. First, i bought a silverish casing, and the missing part is the memory card knob. Then i bought a black one, the missing part is the POWER BUTTON. Lastly, i bought this black silver casing, and the missing part is the CROSS BUTTON (Navigational Button). Dang! :p
*:i will post the pictures soon. So keep your eyes on this site. :p

Corruption is Everywhere
Well... we all know what corruption is...
Corruption, when applied as a technical term, is a general concept describing any organized, interdependent system in which part of the system is either not performing duties it was originally intended to, or performing them in an improper way, to the detriment of the system's original purpose. Its original meaning has connotations of evil, malignance, sickness, and loss of innocence or purity.
(taken from en.wikipedia.org)
ok, maybe some of you asked, "Why do you say everywhere??"
well, this is only my thought :
1. When we are @ School or Campus, we often came late. THIS IS CORRUPTION. We took some more time to have our "Leisure", and these LATENESS gave us some reason for not coming into the class.
2. When we are paying for our bill in a restaurant or a mart, we often "cut" the change. For example, if we buy some cigarettes in the mart, that cost 6525 Rupiahs, we often pay 7000, and only got 400 in return. THIS IS CORRUPTION. Think about their profit. 1 person will give them 75 rupiahs, 2 will give them 150. What about a "mega market" with 10000 customer a day???
3. When we want to wake up from sleep, we often say : "a little more minute will be okay", even though we are already late to go to school or campus. THIS IS CORRUPTION
4. When we are viewing a video, or a movie in DVD, we often SKIP the advertisements or the "not-so-cool" parts. THIS IS CORRUPTION. Think about the time they take in making those films. Advertisements is the only way they get their profit (even though indirectly) , and WE ARE CUTTING IT DOWN.
5. When we are going to drink, we often fill the glass to the "almost-full" state. And we drink it, to the "almost empty" state. Then we wash it up. THIS IS ALSO A CORRUPTION. If a person disposes 20ml of water every time he drinks, and he drinks 5 times a day, it makes a person disposes 100 ml of water a day. In this world, there are MORE THAN FIVE BILLION PEOPLE. I don't want to calculate the image, because it will only show our "barbaric corruption"
6. When we are in the class, we should have been listening to the lecturer or the people speaking in front. But instead of doing so, we often chat with friends, or even blog (like what i am doing now, i am in a class), or sleeping. THIS IS CORRUPTION.
Now, think about it, if some people says : "CORRUPTORS GO TO HELL", then no wonder that the heaven will be very vacant. =)
ps : this is made not to make any people feel harassed, just to make us AWARED.

Girls are from Venus
Yeah, you must've known these words : "Men are from Mars, women are from Venus". For me, these words only mean one thing : men can't understand women, and vice versa, and women will ALWAYS be different from men, even though emancipation truly exists.
I will show some common seen differences (or discrimination?) of men and women, and my responds about it:
boys/men : this is what i see from myself, so if you differ from me, feel free to tell me what your opinion is
girls/women : sorry if you felt like i am discriminating, but this is what i feel. No hard feelings, okay? :p
this post was made without trying to discredit any single living person in this world. NO OFFENSE. =)
I will show some common seen differences (or discrimination?) of men and women, and my responds about it:
- Women may cry, and men shouldn't.
- I don't see any connection between the gender and the "crying" thing, do you? When we were still a baby, did somebody laugh at a baby boy because he is crying? No, right? So why do we have to laugh at a crying man, which is theoretically only "a bit older" than the baby boy? Crying is normal, especially because it can wash up our cornea faster... =)
- Women can complaint twice as much as men do
- Yes, this is it! Women complaint VERY MUCH. And the worse thing is, the complaint is usually focusing on the small things, which are UNIMPORTANT. For example : "oh, i won't be able to go to the party tonight, i have no cloth to wear on". Oh COME ON! You had yourself a cabinet full of branded clothes, and you still say so?
- Women think too much, men act more
- I agree with this, because a woman is always dilemmatic when taking a decision. They take longer and longer times as the problem grows more complicated. BUT, they will take even long times for such simple things, like choosing the right color of clothes, or choosing where to sit in the cinema. And do you know that men hate that, girls?? :p
- Women is always the "victim"
- When a relationship is broken, the only thing people hope to do is calming the girl. The boy is always left out the door. Why?? They always think that men are always the reason of a broken relationship. Women, which are usually seen as "weaker" always took the "victim" position, even though they are the real reason.
- Women always wait for men to move
- Oh hoooo... COME ON GIRLS, speak up. Haha... Myself as a man, i agree with this, i always make the first move. But do you know, that having a girl moving for you first will melt a boy down. At least that's what i see. Aggressive girls? Why not? But not too aggressive i think. haha...
boys/men : this is what i see from myself, so if you differ from me, feel free to tell me what your opinion is
girls/women : sorry if you felt like i am discriminating, but this is what i feel. No hard feelings, okay? :p

Apple MacBook
I am now using an Apple MacBook white, 2.16 GHz, 1GB RAM, and 120GB HDD. I have several complaints about this product, but maybe this is my own mistake (?). I used BootCamp in Mac OS X, so i can use Windows also. But the Windows show some "complaint-able" things.
- Sometimes the contrast gets darker, then lighter, then dark again, and so on. It continues for 3-4 seconds. I find it very annoying, because my eyes aren't good anymore, and they are very sensitive to things like that.
- If in case my laptop turned to Sleep mode when it is in Windows mode, it is really erroneous when turned back on. It can't be shut down, and some errors show up themselves, like "Network Cable 2 has been unplugged" (i don't use any network cables...) or "Application failed to initialize, because rxgvrw.dll is not found" (the rxgvrw is not real, i forgot the letter sequence, and i don't want to try again

Blocked YouTube and RapidShare
I can't believe that this day really comes up. YouTube, the fastest growing video streaming in the world, and RapidShare, one of the most complete download/upload site in the world is blocked in Indonesia.
I have to admit that i REALLY DISAGREE with this decision. I have three big reasons :
1. Youtube is not all about the F* movie. I used YouTube for entertainment and education.
Everybody knows that YouTube is great place for movie sharing. Even though Indonesia
have it's own (Indowebster), but still YouTube is a great place to promote yourself. For
education, i used it oftenly for video tutorials, especially for cooking and installing some new
hardwares.
2. Do they know about proxies? Two minutes after i see the news, i already know how to open
it. I do believe that the government has spent a lot of money to block those sites. But it is
very easy to be cracked. disappointing
3. What about MySpace and RapidShare? MySpace is just a social network, but have gone into
many people's life. Some of our indie band even put their promotion there. Do the
government wants to pay for their livelihood?
And another reason that i don't put in the above : A lot of people don't know F* at first, but because of this blockade, MANY PEOPLE STARTS TO FIND OUT what the F* is. I have seen some trailers, and people asked me "What is F*?", "Where to find it?", etc. They WANT TO KNOW. Is this what the government want? I am really sure that this isn't.
